Derinkuyu
How humans layer emotions
A 3000 years old city discovered in Turkey by a local resident. When he accidentally knocked down his basement and entered level layered with more layers of levels in year 1963. The vertical tunnels or layers and horizontally rooms are like boxes boxed in another box.
While just focusing only on the Archaeological aspect we have neglected how human brain has designed the architectural layout as it very much demonstrating the conditioning of brain. And a little critical thinking discloses that evidently since ancient days human brain has had the capacity to hide and layer emotions which we witness from the layered city rediscovered underneath a well developed city.
While comparing the layering technique that we humans use today, it is crystal clear that even today we aren’t much different.
Using same layering technique we hide our pains and show what world wants to see in us. We are masters of layering and creating levels from the day we first stepped on soil. Humans have masks they use not just for the theatrical plays but in daily life, as well.
We will continue may be but with different masks and layers which works best at that point in time. The levels of Derinkuyu so depicts our intelligence that we use to mask our emotions.
Perhaps, fear of invaders has passed to future generations, the only difference is- of type of invaders that we have today. They were hunger, thirst, fight in the past but invader today is ‘revelation of truth’ and letting go of sorrow because we are too afraid to be judged- possibly.
